Here for the weekend which is great. In fact, I've got myself into quite a nice little routine in Berlin. Yep, I'm still catching up with Jack Bauer and then I head out each lunchtime into Berlin for a spot of sight-seeing and something to eat at Starbucks. In fact, I'm virtually on first name terms with the guys at Starbucks now!
My match with Mark Selby finished around half-eleven last night and I went back to the hotel for a glass of wine with a few folks - I think I might have done a stint on the piano as well! You always need a bit of time to relax and unwind before you can sleep following a night match.
Of course, I was really pleased to be get past Mark, who is such a class act on and off the table. At 4-1, I had a chance to finish it but miscued a straight red and the game turned on me. It was as if the snooker gods had said, 'You've had your chance...'.
I barely saw a ball again until it was 4-3. Actually, the eighth was actually a really scrappy frame with key colours off their spots and several reds tied up. In the end, he missed the brown having moved the blue and I was able to end up winning it on the black.
Tonight will be one of the biggest crowds that I've ever played in front of and I'm really excited about the prospect. The arena has a capacity of over 2,500 and it's pretty much sold out today and tomorrow. I watched the closing stages of the tournament on television last year and the atmosphere seemed amazing.
So, I'm really looking forward to experiencing it for myself. Hopefully Stephen Maguire and I can put something special on for all the fans. Stephen is a great player and has so much bottle and heart. We've have had some classic matches in the past - let's hope tonight's is another one.
Goodluck 2nite shaun i hope eurosport shows your match from start to finsh all the best.
Sorry you lost 6-0 shaun
